Purpose of Meeting
This is a community workshop to provide information to residents of North Bay about the class of chemicals known as PFAS which are a current cause of concern due to contamination of Lees Creek and Delaney Bay with this group of chemicals. Guest speakers from the Canadian Environmental Law Association and the Toxics-Free Great Lakes Binational Network will provide a basic orientation to the issues, including the characteristics of this class of chemicals and how they are regulated in Canada. Local speakers will summarize the history and status of the contamination of Lees Creek and Delaney Bay.
